One of the things I am most grateful for in this experience with Mold is the precision it requires to relate to it.
It’s like unthreading a fine cashmere sweater one centimeter at a time.
It requires incredible patience and precision.
Force and collapse have no place on this journey.
It’s walking a narrow tight rope of consciousness and Truth.
This week felt big in getting to some of the chunkier details in allowing me to move back in.
The remediation portion is fully complete.
We went above and beyond in our efforts and removal of material.
And I’m going even further to ensure the house is foundationally better than it’s ever been.
I had the mold inspector come back to swab random samples of remediated wood and non remediated wood to ensure
Tomorrow they demo the front wall of the house that had the patio flooding into the drywall causing a terrible Stachybatrus infestation.
I had this thought that there was probably mold between the stucco and plywood so we are knocking the whole wall down and replacing the plywood with block.
Beginning of June we are getting a Tesla roof solar system on the house and I met with the roofers this week to talk about the disasterous errors that had been made to the roof when the front addition was made.
They are going to be pulling up a bunch of roof and removing any wood that had mold on it. They are replacing the problematic areas with a metal piece which will drain water better and ensure we don’t have any roof leaks going forward.
We finalized our patio and landscape design.
This will be installed end of June.
All the pieces are coming together. There are still a few more things but we are getting there with the big parts.
I had them build me a new laundry room so we could have top loading (versus front) washers.
There are still a lot of belongings we need to remove. We need to have the house cleaned again. The HVAC cleaned again. Then we will let the house sit for about a month. Then we will retest it. Once we get the dust test I will spend time there. While I’m spending time there we will take blood tests to measure the reactivity.
It’s a BIG. LONG. METICULOUS. Process.
And I’m starting to feel confident the patient is going to survive the surgery and we will have a hope of being reunited.
What a journey. What a practice.
