1) The people who got defensive confirmed my observation with adolescent characters and nastiness. The need to dominate, tear down, dismiss name call and belittle me personally. Those were revealing.

2) People who clearly don’t know me thought:

– I’m afraid of poly because I am afraid of sex

– I must be a “frigid prude who read too much Emily Brontë”

– that I am a sexual anorexic

*Good to note these were clearly mature men indeed with a real reverence for women.

3) People interpreted this as a “poly is bad, monogamy is good” post and many went on to trash monogamy. I never mentioned monogamy. Of course it can be immature as well. But can you hear the maturity oozing from the response “ERMAGERD!!!! MONOGAMY IS IMMATURE TOOOOOOO”

4) It’s not my opinion or my judgement. It’s an energetic observation. I actually don’t care who you fuck as long as you aren’t the newly minted + of minor attracted person… (watch them come to defend this…they are getting so brazen)

5) Acknowledging how one relates is a trauma response is not a shameful or wrong event. The word “immaturity” alone does not in fact mean anything wrong unless you are aware and ashamed you are underdeveloped .

6) This points to the merging of sexual identity/ sexual culture & how those aspects create a feeling for people that they are oppressed, threatened, need to dominate and educate anyone who sees it differently

7) The very mature people who had a lot of emotional reaction also didn’t understand consent or boundaries very well! Another outstanding sign of true maturity.

8 I of course left room for the idea this is not an absolute…. And I received a great example from someone until she told me that she could lose her children if her lifestyle was discovered. And see, my definition of mature does not include the possibility of losing your children because you need to have sex /relationships with multiple people.

So my little experiment was quite….confirming. Thank you all for participating. For those of you who can feel the thread I was pointing to bravo.
